Jolly Logic's Chute Release allows you to employ "Dual Deployment" recovery without the use of pyrotechnic ejection charges.

Dual Deployment is a technique used to reduce the distance a rocket drifts after the parachute deploys.

The Chute Release holds your parachute closed until the rocket has descended to a specific altitude. Then the parachute is released to slow the rocket for a safe landing.

An elastic band is wrapped around the parachute in your rocket. This holds the parachute closed after it is ejected from the rocket at apogee. An altimeter built into the Chute Release detects when the rocket has fallen to the chosen altitude. Then, using an electronic servo, the Chute Release allows the parachute to open. This allows simple motor-eject rockets to reduce the distance that the rocket drifts while on parachute which is especially important for high flights, windy days, and small fields.
